Reliable partner for renewable energies
In Germany, we are an established partner for renewable energies and operate 18 wind farms with around 300 MW, among other things. We combine our experience from decades of partnerships with local energy suppliers with the comprehensive technical and commercial expertise and know-how of the ENGIE Group to optimise the use of each site.
When it comes to renewable projects, we take care of everything, from site acquisition to planning, permits, construction and operation of the plants through to the marketing of the energy generated. By getting involved in projects at an early stage, we can achieve optimised conditions for development and procurement and minimise risks. We are also open to investment partnerships. To increase the acceptance of renewable energies locally, we offer flexibly customisable models for citizen participation.
Direct marketing and PPA
As one of the largest electricity market participants, we at ENGIE in Germany have concluded 2 GW of direct marketing for wind and solar and 1.5 GW of upstream PPAs in 2024. Our central trading platform in Brussels is staffed around the clock and has access to all European electricity markets, from forwards to the intraday market.
We offer individually designed models for plant operators who want to optimise the income from their wind farms, gain long-term planning security and meet the legal requirements:
- Direct marketing
- Short-term PPAs for post-EEG plants
- Long-term PPAs for new plants without subsidisation
- PPAs for subsidised plants
By combining battery energy storage systems (BESS) with renewable energy projects, we help to stabilise the grid and open up a wide range of benefits for our customers. Investors and developers have the opportunity to fix the level of expected revenues through our marketing models with a fixed price component for more investment security in a dynamic market environment.
